Queens of Ancient Egypt Documentary

Last year I went to Dublin for a day to film some talking head sequences for a documentary on Cleopatra Selene, and that documentary is now available to view in various places around the world! It’s called Queens of Ancient Egypt, by a production company called Off The Fence. Here in the UK, it’s on Now TV and it will be available on streaming until 9th August. It’s quite different from the now infamous Queen Cleopatra documentary on Netflix. The purpose of the series is to tell the story of some lesser known Egyptian queens, rather than rehash the stories of the famous ones like Hatshepsut and Cleopatra VII.

Obviously, Cleopatra VII features a bit near the beginning of the episode devoted to Cleopatra Selene (episode 3: Cleopatra’s Daughter), but it’s very much Cleopatra Selene’s story. I hope you enjoy it! And if you would like to know more, you can read my book Cleopatra’s Daughter: Egyptian Princess, Roman Prisoner, African Queen.
