New Book Announcement!

I’m delighted to announce that I’ve signed a contract with Atlantic Books for my second popular history book, A Thoroughly Rapacious Female: How Fulvia Played the Game, Broke All the Rule, Won and then Lost in Ancient Rome. It will be published in hardback in 2025.

The news was broken last Friday in The Bookseller, with quite a detailed article, which I was delighted about. And when I shared the news on Twitter, my tweet got over 14,000 views, which is the biggest engagement I’ve had since the takeover happened.

And this was soon followed by an article in BookBrunch, which you should be able to access here. If you can’t, you can get all the information on the Atlantic Books website here.

A Thoroughly Rapacious Female will tell the story of one of the most fascinating women of the Late Republic, Marcus Antonius’ third wife Fulvia, who is generally overlooked in the rush to pay attention to his mistress Cleopatra VII, Queen of Egypt, but she lived an incredible life at the very heart of the fall of the Republic, and I can’t wait to start sharing her story!
